Enchanted Wheels

Mercan Dede was inspired by the concepts of transformation and movement in the creation process of the works in the exhibition held in 2016. Comparing notions such as the transformation of life, the change of human beings, the spinning of whirling dervishes, karma, to 'magic wheels' that are connected and interacting with each other, these works of the artist are, in his own words, one of his most mysterious works and is full of surprises.

The exhibition, which featured 22 works produced with mixed media, met with art lovers on October - November 2016 at Ekavart Gallery and then at İzmir Ekol Art Gallery.

The series, which Mercan Dede started based on the concept of mysticism, which also had a great impact on his musical studies, is guiding all of us to a dimension where time does not exist, with the key of 'now' and by purifying ourselves from the frames, patterns, roads and fates to reach the "land of heart" that the artist calls "the only land not limited to time and space”

The series, which was the artist's second exhibition at Ekavart Gallery, was later moved to Büyük Efes Art Gallery in İzmir.

Revolution Revelation

More than 70,000 guests visited the exhibition, which featured the joint works of Mercan Dede and Carlito Dalceggio, at the Borusan Music House.

In the exhibition, the theme of 'revolution' is represented by Carlito Dalceggio and the theme of 'revelation' is represented by Mercan Dede. 'Revolution' is an invitation to get rid of the ego, to shed the shells and masks in order to reach a new level of consciousness. 'Revelation' or "lifting of the curtains" describes the inner transformation that follows and complements it. The two artists, who see life and its productions as an intertwined cycle, prove that while moving away from each other, it is possible that they can turn around and pass from the same point, more conscious and enlightened.
